Sheffield Based Dance Classes
About Us
Dance Legacy is a Sheffield-based dance school built around great training, confidence and a genuine love of dance. We offer classes for children, teens and adults across a range of styles, with options for complete beginners through to dancers looking to perform and compete. Our aim is to create a space where people feel comfortable walking through the door, can enjoy being themselves and are encouraged to keep progressing. Our classes are about more than learning choreography. We focus on building strong foundations, developing technique, confidence and performance skills, while keeping classes fun and welcoming. Alongside our weekly classes, dancers have opportunities to join our teams, take part in performances, compete and get involved in workshops and events throughout the year. We’re proud of the community we’re building at Dance Legacy and want every dancer to feel like there’s a place for them here.
More than dance. A place to build confidence, friendships and a legacy.

Martha Saxelby
Founder & Teacher
Over the years, I’ve trained in tap, ballet, modern jazz, theatre and street dance, gaining my dance examinations through the IDTA. I went on to study Sport and Exercise Science at university, developing my knowledge of movement, strength and performance alongside my dance training.
Now, I love being able to pass that experience on to the next generation of dancers.
My goal is to create a positive environment where dancers can build confidence, make lasting friendships and enjoy every step of their dance journey while reaching their full potential.
Lucy Alderson
Teacher
I’m Lucy, originally from Manchester, and I’ve been dancing since I was 2 years old! Growing up, I trained in tap, ballet, modern, jazz, theatre and street, before going on to study Sport and Exercise Science at university.
Teaching has given me the chance to share everything I love about dance with others. Dance & Shine is especially close to my heart, and I’m really passionate about creating a class where everyone feels welcome, can be themselves and just enjoy dancing.
For me, seeing dancers come out of their shell, have fun and grow in confidence is the best part of teaching!
Ronnie Zak
Teacher Assistant
Hi, I’m Ronnie, I have a strong background in competitive cheerleading and dance, and have been lucky enough to compete both nationally and internationally, including in Amsterdam and Barcelona. One of my biggest achievements was winning at the All Star Dance World Championships in Florida in 2024!
Alongside cheerleading, I have also trained in Street, Lyrical, Jazz & Heels.
I’m really passionate about inspiring the next generation of dancers and passing on my love for dance. I want every dancer who comes into class to feel welcomed and supported, while encouraging them to push themselves, grow in confidence and reach their full potential.
